Town House, Beckwith Green. Sunderland
Since the financial downturn in the market place many of the smaller interior design companies like ours have been affected. It hit the North East of England pretty badly and many sites were moth balled. Since then our clients’ budgets were cut almost in half and there was twice as much pressure to sell. The main problem on some sites in tyne and wear was the townhouses. The region had too many of them and they were not selling for a number of reasons - one being that the prospective clients felt they were small and narrow, the other being they prefer traditional two storey build.
As a company, we feel that we are managing both the downturn and problem properties as best we can by creating innovative, affordable solutions to local residents and developers alike with fantastic space saving ideas, de clutter formulas and specialist lighting systems to create a better sense of space. We believe that our interiors are practical and aspirational and we tackle each project with genuine enthusiasm and creative passion. We have also started designing our own wallpaper murals and bespoke cabinetry in order to make houses look twice as good, but at a fraction of the price.
We have attached some images of a very recent town house on a site in Sunderland that wasn’t selling. Our brief was to create a fashion conscious scheme on a very tight budget that made people say “wow” when they walked in every room, whilst making the property appear as spacious as possible.
From day 1 of the showhome launch, the townhouses got reservations and the client was delighted. As a result we have received a lot more work from the client and have had numerous phone calls from visitors asking whether we will provide them with bespoke wallpaper and residential design services.
