Roche Bobois Manchester
Roche Bobois’ first UK showroom outside London was opened in Manchester, in January 2008. The impressive 8,000 sq ft architect-designed store sits at the base of an apartment block on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and the newly developed Redhill Street area, close to the vibrant heart of Manchester’s city centre.
Following the success of this aesthetically distinctive French furniture brand in London, England’s ‘second city’ was the obvious starting point from which to launch into other style-conscious UK regions. The Manchester showroom has been designed specifically to provide separate display areas in which to present the two distinctive yet complementary extensive main collections: Les Contemporains, a wide range of clean-lined modern designs for the living room, bedroom is showcased on the ground floor and Les Provinciales, more traditional-looking furniture and accessories inspired by the charms of the past ‘à la française, is displayed on the light-filled gallery above accessed by a wide sweeping open concrete staircase that forms a striking architectural feature at the heart of the store.
The fully styled inspirational roomsets are completely changed twice a year in order to present the newly launched collections and a number of local galleries and artists are regularly offered the opportunity of hanging their work within the displays.
The sales and design team offer a 3D studio, home visits (in order to help with accurate measurements and to advise on product choice etc) and the benefit of their design experience (each member of the Manchester team has an academic background in interior design).
Roche Bobois has been producing fine furniture for 50 years, offering exclusive made to order “haute couture” designs for those in search of supremely comfortable , well-made and aesthetically distinctive European-made furniture and was delighted to open its 240th store in Manchester.
