An exquisite new wallpaper collection from Farrow & Ball
Inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings housed at The National Gallery
Colour expert Farrow & Ball unveils its latest collection of traditionally made wallpapers, uniquely crafted using Farrow & Ball paint printed onto paper. The Broccato Papers comprises six charming wallpapers inspired by the Italian Renaissance period.
Named after the Italian translation for ‘brocade’, the collection features three exquisite ornamental patterns derived from rich decorative fabrics featured in 14th and 15th century Renaissance paintings housed at The National Gallery, London. From these patterns, Farrow & Ball has also created a further three wallpapers using an element of the original paintings to form a comprehensive collection of harmonious designs.
The Broccato Papers is characterised by ornate floral and fruit motifs, with meticulous symmetrical detailing, distinctive of the Renaissance style and richly embossed Brocade fabrics. Each pattern is available in ten colourways, from soft neutrals and pretty pastels to bolder colours and metallic accents. The collection includes a number of new colours including the soft mauve Brassica and lead-toned grey Plummett.
Crivelli Rose is a classic brocade pattern, featuring extravagant plumes of oak tree and acorn motifs in majestic rosettes linked by intricate wheat-inspired trellising. The corresponding design, Crivelli Trellis is a simple and delicate wheat-detailed trellis.
Brocade is an elegant design with gothic influence and elaborate detailing of ornate floral, thistle and leaf motifs. The corresponding design, Brocade Stripe is a classic stripe featuring a central floral column.
Renaissance is an enchanting pictorial print bursting with sunflowers, birds and fine botanical detailing. The corresponding design, Renaissance Leaves is a delightful pattern with a frivolous feeling, featuring gently tumbling oak-shaped leaves.
The Broccato Papers has the signature depth of colour and delicacy of appearance of all Farrow & Ball wallpapers, which are made using real Farrow & Ball minimal VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) water based paints.
