The site consisted of an existing plot which was occupied by No. 33 Heybridge Lane and an adjacent plot which has never been developed. The ‘empty’ plot had the appearance of an overgrown field; however, its position and shape gave it the feel of a vacant residential plot. Furthermore, the house numbers on either side reflected this as they were 33 & 37. The site has the benefit of an existing consent for substantial alterations and extensions with new access.
Our proposal was to demolish the existing dwelling, combine the two plots and construct a single detached dwelling.
