Holmes Chapel House
McNulty architects were commissioned to design an Eco Home that would bring the outside landscape inside.
Glazed apertures to every room, sliding glazed panels to form terraces, (even in the bathroom) and 6m high pivot doors to a double height atrium answered the brief emphatically and created a home that immerses you into the surrounding landscape.
In addition, creating an incredibly energy efficient home incorporating a ground source heat pump, pv solar panels to the roof, heat recovery system, underfloor heating throughout, rain water harvesting and energy efficient lighting. The walls utilise new insulating technology with the house detailed to rigorous air tightness standards.
