About UBER and the Design Resource Centre.
Founded and launched in the summer of 2009, some said we must be mad to swim against the current in the middle of the recession. We're happy to report that UBER immediately caused waves within the Interior profession as one of the top destinations for all Interior aficionados. UBER is a multi-faceted organisation. It's a Design Resource Centre for anyone wishing to purchase furnishings, a place for professionals to schmooze their clients, a working design practice with a formidable collection of trade partners under one roof…
Positioned on the edge of Knutsford the 6000 ft sq design resource centre is a haven of inspirational products spectacularly displayed in semi-room set environments with an eire of opulence and glamour. We understand good service and we're here to take the headache out of a build project and surpass your expectations.
"We've tried to select only the best furniture pieces from our frequent excursions around the world" comments the founder Simon Evans, "to showcase the type of suppliers we have relationships with. Some are well known top brands to the trade but we have a keen eye for spotting new talent which the mainstream often miss".
It's a high-end concept store open to the public but aimed at the trade to allow them to present and visualise to their clients with facilities such as a grand presentation suite, refreshments, home automation media suite room, well stocked resource areas for furnishing references like carpets, wall and floor coverings, ample parking spaces, etc as well as room sets from bedrooms to dining rooms overflowing with show stopping furniture and furnishings.
In an industry first UBER spotted the potential of a formidable force by uniting some of the very best companies who have complimentary services to form the UBER team. This comprises well established and award winning companies in home automation and security, pools and spas, landscape architecture, floor coverings and wallcoverings along with interior design and spatial planning to be brought together under a one-stop-shop for anyone at the early stages of a build (be it residential or commercial) to reap the benefits of united approach bringing the disparate disciplines into one team of the ultimate services, UBER.
Unusually in this industry, you’ll find our passion for design more than equaled by our understanding of the business of projects. We know how to add value, giving you and your team a competitive – as well as aesthetic – edge.
"We've had a truly amazing first year. Very positive feedback all round, expanding to meet demand and involvement in some incredible projects I feel privileged and indebted to the talented team of internal staff and UBER partners" comments Simon.
Recently UBER launched a comprehensive online store www.uber-interiors.com aiming at expanding the visibility of the range of inspirational products exponentially and to a wider audience. "Since the launch in August we are adding new products and suppliers at a rate of 200 per week" mentions Jim Evans UBER's Technology Director. He continues "Membership is free and Interior professionals can benefit form true trade prices and benefits. It is also our aim to be a regular stop off for a fix of relevant news and useful exhibition reports." There's already great deal of enhancements and features being developed for phase 2!
