This year’s colourful winning show garden was created by the Environment Agency – the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. The agency strives to make sure that air, land and water are looked after by everyone, so that tomorrow’s generations inherit a cleaner, healthier world.
Jackie Bowley of the Environment Agency said: “The concept of the garden was to make people aware of the waste that they throw away. The garden was made using throwaway plastics from rubbish that would usually find its way to a landfill site.” “We were thrilled to win the award and at the same time promote our World Environment Day message – ‘Stand up to Climate Change’. Our Climate is changing and by making the right choices now we can slow climate change down.”
